In a bid to halt continued hostilities, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared an intent to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin for ceasefire negotiations in Turkiye, targeting a ceasefire start on Monday.

This development follows US President Donald Trump urging Ukraine to accept Russia's proposal for face-to-face talks.

Ukraine and its allies have called for a non-conditional ceasefire preceding any discussions, and it is not clear if Zelenskyy's participation is dependent on this condition being met.
