In a disturbing escalation of tensions, Pakistani authorities confirmed on Monday that seven individuals lost their lives, and six others sustained serious injuries following Indian drone attacks and firing in Punjab province's Gujrat city on Saturday.
According to local government sources, the drones targeted multiple areas, including Lahore, Chiniot, Pakpattan, Kharian, Sheikhupura, and Jalapur Jattan. The most notable impact was on the Sheikh Zayed International Airport in Rahim Yar Khan district, which suffered a hit from an Indian missile.
The Rahim Yar Khan Deputy Commissioner Khuram Javed reported extensive damage, with the blast creating a massive crater and devastating the airport's Royal Lounge, used by the UAE president and family. The incident underscores the volatile and precarious situation along the Indo-Pak border.
