Punjab BJP president, Sunil Jakhar, has urged Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to initiate a high-level probe under the Punjab and Haryana High Court's Chief Justice supervision to investigate the drug money trail in the state. In his statement, Jakhar stressed the importance of targeting the major beneficiaries rather than just small players.
The AAP government's 'Yudh Nashian Virudh' campaign has resulted in the arrest of over 17,000 drug smugglers. Despite these breakthroughs, Jakhar argues that identifying the money's end beneficiaries is crucial for curbing the drug issue, pointing to the involvement of politicians and officials.
Jakhar highlights potential money laundering and the involvement of influential figures, urging a credible, time-bound investigation. He suggests examining other illicit money trails, such as from mining, to ensure accountability. Offering himself for scrutiny, Jakhar emphasizes sincerity in addressing Punjab's drug crisis.
