In a dramatic turn of events during the Kaliganj by-election in West Bengal, BJP candidate Ashis Ghosh has made headlines by accusing poll officials of marking his middle finger instead of his index finger when he cast his vote.
Ghosh pointed fingers at the Trinamool Congress, alleging that booth number 173 in Debagram orchestrated this act under their influence, labeling it a political conspiracy. His claims stirred a controversy that questioned electoral integrity in the state.
Responding to the allegations, polling officials clarified that there is no mandate on which finger should be inked, and they have sought a report from the District Magistrate to further investigate the matter.
