In a dramatic turn of events, BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy was arrested by Warangal police in Telangana on allegations of extortion. The arrest occurred early Saturday at RGI airport.

Authorities claim Reddy coerced a quarry owner into giving him Rs 25 lakh and further demanded Rs 50 lakh. BRS Working President K T Rama Rao, however, alleges a political witch-hunt, accusing the state government of using false charges to silence Reddy's criticism of alleged corruption by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and other Congress leaders.

Rao has called for Reddy's immediate and unconditional release, signaling what could be a growing political battle in the region.
