Trinamool Congress state convener P V Anvar launched a scathing attack against the ruling Left in Kerala, particularly targeting Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan over the proposed elevation of ADGP M R Ajithkumar as the state's new police chief.
Speaking at a press conference, Anvar questioned the Chief Minister's determination to appoint Ajithkumar, highlighting a lack of forwarded vigilance clearance reports for other candidates, including IPS officer Yogesh Gupta. The delay has reportedly prompted multiple requests from the UPSC.
Anvar, who awaits the results of the Nilambur bypoll, took credit for compelling LDF ministers to canvass vigorously. His resignation, linked to sparking controversy against the CM, led to the bypoll. The Kerala government has yet to respond to these allegations.
