Defence Minister Rajnath Singh received a detailed briefing on the current security conditions in Jammu and Kashmir from senior Army officials on Saturday, with specific attention to border security, anti-terrorism efforts, and the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, officials disclosed.
Attended by top military leaders including Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and Northern Command Chief Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, the meeting at Udhampur's northern command headquarters was centered on maintaining regional stability and ensuring the safe passage of pilgrims.
Rajpath Singh's visit, coinciding with the International Day of Yoga, also saw him engage in yoga exercises with soldiers, reinforcing the synergy between physical wellness and operational readiness among troops. Security measures for the 38-day Yatra will include multi-tier arrangements across critical routes, ensuring smooth facilitation for participants.
