The European Union has made significant progress in its ammunition initiative for Ukraine, with pledges covering 80% of the target, as reported by the EU's foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas. However, she urged further contributions to meet the growing demands.

Speaking on Monday before a discussion with EU foreign ministers in Brussels, Kallas expressed satisfaction with the current level of support but stressed the importance of continued efforts.

"I am happy to tell you that 80% of the ammunition initiative has already been pledged. But of course, we have to do more," Kallas remarked, highlighting the pressing need for ongoing aid in the context of the Ukraine conflict.
