Veteran CPI(M) Leader V S Achuthanandan Hospitalized Following Cardiac Attack

V S Achuthanandan, former Chief Minister of Kerala and a seasoned leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), has been hospitalized following a cardiac event. Currently aged 101, Achuthanandan remains in stable condition, according to hospital sources, and his health is being closely monitored by a team of cardiologists.

Displaying resilience despite his age, Achuthanandan has largely withdrawn from active political life due to health concerns. Nonetheless, his legacy as a pivotal figure in Kerala's political landscape endures, with a career that includes serving as Chief Minister from 2006 to 2011, contesting 10 elections, and emerging victorious in seven.

CPI(M) state secretary M V Govindan, who visited him at the hospital, confirmed that Achuthanandan's condition is stable at present. As the last surviving member of the group that established the CPI(M) in 1964, his contributions continue to be revered by many in the political sphere.
