The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has successfully retained the Ludhiana West Assembly seat after their candidate Sanjeev Arora triumphed over Congress rival Bharat Bhushan Ashu by a substantial difference of 10,637 votes. This win further cements AAP's presence in the region.

According to the official data released by the Election Commission, Arora secured a total of 35,179 votes, whereas Ashu managed to acquire 24,542 votes. In a closely watched contest, BJP's Jiwan Gupta and Shiromani Akali Dal's Parupkar Singh Ghuman polled 20,323 and 8,203 votes, respectively.

The necessity for this by-election arose due to the unfortunate passing of AAP MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi earlier in January. Celebrations erupted at Arora's residence and within AAP's offices in Ludhiana following the announcement of their decisive victory.
