In a significant diplomatic move against cross-border terrorism, India's Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is set to urge the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) to intensify efforts at curbing terrorism during a two-day meeting in China's Qingdao starting Wednesday.

Singh's visit to Qingdao marks the first high-level Indian ministerial visit to China following strained relations due to military confrontations along the Indo-Chinese border in 2020. His agenda includes advocating for regional cooperation to combat terrorism, following precision strikes on Pakistani terror sites.

The defense minister plans to discuss India's dedication to SCO principles, emphasizing sovereignty, non-interference, and mutual respect, while also seeking enhanced trade, economic cooperation, and regional connectivity within the bloc.
