The Israeli military has announced the death of seven Israeli soldiers after a Palestinian attacker targeted their armored vehicle in the southern Gaza Strip. In what has become one of the deadliest attacks on the Israeli army in Gaza in months, the situation has once again highlighted the protracted conflict in the region.
Alongside the military casualties, Gaza's health officials reported the tragic killing of 79 Palestinians in Israeli attacks across the strip. Among these, 33 individuals lost their lives while attempting to access aid. The continuous fighting has seen a staggering 860 Israeli soldiers killed since the renewal of hostilities on October 7, 2023.
In a separate incident, a 66-year-old Palestinian woman was shot and killed by Israeli forces in east Jerusalem. As the violence intensifies, international efforts for peace, including US-led ceasefire negotiations, have repeatedly failed, adding to the humanitarian crisis in the region.
