The Communist Party of India (Marxist) or CPI(M) announced a protest rally in West Bengal's Kaliganj following the tragic death of a young girl allegedly caused by a bomb explosion during the recent bypoll vote counting. Party state secretary Mohammed Salim has strongly criticized the election procedure, highlighting failures of the Election Commission in preventing violence.
Salim condemned the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) victory celebration in Malandi village that allegedly resulted in the 13-year-old student's death. He emphasized the need for the CPI(M) demonstrations, which will extend across the state, to draw attention to the unsafe electoral environment.
The CPI(M) accuses TMC and BJP of conspiring to eliminate secular and Marxist elements from West Bengal's political landscape. There is a call for arrests of individuals named in the First Information Report (FIR) regarding Khatun's death, underscoring concerns about the existing law and order scenario in the state.
