Marking the 50th anniversary of the 1975 Emergency, Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa launched a scathing critique of the Congress party on Wednesday, denouncing its role during that tumultuous time. Bairwa underscored the pressing need to enlighten younger generations about the 'atrocities committed during the Emergency.'

Speaking to the media, Bairwa articulated, 'During the Emergency, thousands of innocent individuals were imprisoned. The Congress party has repeatedly violated the Constitution. Under the leadership of PM Modi, the BJP government has worked to safeguard the Constitution.' He noted the observance of 'Kala Divas' at the district level, aimed at increasing awareness among the youth about the Congress's actions during that era.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday emphatically condemned the 1975 Emergency, labeling it an 'era of injustice' instigated by the Congress's 'hunger for power.' He highlighted that the Modi-led government commemorates June 25 as 'Samvidhan Hatya Diwas (Constitution Assassination Day)' to educate the younger generation about this somber chapter in Indian democracy. In a social media post, Shah called the period a reflection of Congress's anti-democratic mindset, where fundamental freedoms were suppressed. Shah paid homage to the resolute individuals who resisted during this period of tyranny.
