In a significant political development, various parties in Jammu and Kashmir have come together to launch the People's Alliance for Change (PAC). This coalition aims to address the grievances of the citizens, including the restoration of the constitutional status as it existed before the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019.
The announcement was made at the residence of JKPC president Sajad Gani Lone, who emphasized that PAC would not serve as a mere third front but as a platform for reconciliation and democratic processes. The alliance was formed in the presence of key political figures such as PDF president Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, JDF president Shamim Ahmad Thokar, and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil.
Lone criticized established political leaders for their lack of empathy towards the suffering population and highlighted issues like ongoing incarcerations and reservation quotas. He stressed the urgent need for statehood restoration, urging the central government to initiate this process while reaffirming the alliance's commitment to restoring the pre-August 5, 2019, status quo.
