Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday raised alarms about the present political climate in India, pointing out its negative impact on democracy and societal well-being. Speaking at a 'Sneh Milan Samaroh' organized by the Rajasthan Pragatisheel Manch in Jaipur, he highlighted how the tone of political discourse is damaging the nation's democratic and social fabric.

During the event, Dhankhar emphasized that political rivals should not be considered enemies, and he voiced concerns about the deterioration of decorum in legislative conduct. He warned that public frustration with the behavior of lawmakers could drive people to seek alternatives, thereby threatening the sanctity of democratic institutions.

Dhankhar, emphasizing the importance of a healthy opposition, noted that a true democracy requires open expression and dialogue. He criticized the criticism of constitutional authorities when state and central governments are politically different, and cautioned against such trends diminishing the roles of presidents and governors.
