Addressing these rumors, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge stated that such decisions fall under the jurisdiction of the party high command, urging members to avoid fueling controversy. The rotational leadership formula, involving 2.5-year terms for Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar, remains unconfirmed by the party.
Meanwhile, Randeep Singh Surjewala, Congress General Secretary for Karnataka, met with party legislators in Bengaluru, further fueling speculation. Criticism also emerged from R. Ashoka of the opposition, who questioned Kharge's leadership role, suggesting the decision-making power lies with the Gandhi family rather than the AICC President.
