Pakistan's Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, stated on Monday that a "quid pro quo plus" response to India's actions has set a "new normal" for the region. This comes after Indian precision strikes on May 7, targeting terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to the Pahalgam attack.

In retaliation, Pakistan attempted strikes on Indian military bases, with India responding firmly. Dar emphasized that this development challenges India's notion of limited warfare under nuclear constraints. The Deputy Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan's commitment to the Indus Water Treaty and highlighted India's alleged violations of international law.

Dar also addressed Pakistan's dedication to peace in South Asia, urging for regional cooperation. He pointed to improved relations with Afghanistan and initiatives with China and Bangladesh. Notably, efforts to include Afghanistan in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor were underscored, stressing a commitment to prevent Afghan soil from harboring terrorist activities against Pakistan.
