Amidst internal bickering within the Karnataka Congress, AICC general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala dismissed any notion of leadership change. Speaking at a press briefing, flanked by Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, Surjewala reiterated his stance against gathering opinions on leadership shifts.
Surjewala emphasized his ongoing meetings with party MLAs and MPs to assess their contributions within their constituencies. Such evaluations are critical for reviewing the implementation status of promises, including free bus travel for women, he noted.
Addressing allegations of development stagnation raised by some Congress MLAs, Surjewala contended there were ample funds for Karnataka's development. He accused BJP of attempting to halt Congress's five guarantees, alleging they aim to prevent Rs 58,000 crore from benefiting the state's citizens.
