Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has vehemently criticized the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government, accusing it of plotting to merge government schools in rural areas as part of a larger conspiracy. He claims this action is aimed at depriving future generations of their right to education.
Yadav argues that the BJP is intentionally weakening the state's education system to hinder opposition. He asserts that educated individuals pose a threat to authoritarianism, as they are more likely to resist exploitation and oppressive politics.
Meanwhile, government sources contend the merging strategy will optimize educational resources, addressing issues like low enrollment and teacher shortages. Yadav, however, remains firm that this move particularly harms the already marginalized communities in Uttar Pradesh.
