In a statement outside a local court in Islamabad, Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan's imprisoned former prime minister Imran Khan, stressed the need for dialogue with the country's true power brokers. Aleema referenced a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir to bolster her point.
She expressed dissatisfaction with the current government, suggesting it was fraught with fear and insecurity. Imran Khan, according to her, insists on discussions with the real centers of power instead of merely engaging with those in office.
Aleema accused the judicial process of being biased against her brother, with courts allegedly avoiding timely hearings. She underscored Imran Khan's call for a movement against the 'oppressive system' after Muharram, questioning the sincerity of governmental negotiation efforts.
