In her latest political salvo, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched a fierce critique of the BJP-controlled central government, alleging it is under the sway of US President Donald Trump. She questioned the government's apparent inability to reclaim Pakistan-occupied Kashmir during recent escalations with Islamabad.
Speaking at the TMC's annual Martyrs' Day rally, Banerjee referred to the Pahalgam terror incident and 'Operation Sindoor,' when India struck terror camps across the border, suggesting a lost opportunity to assert territorial claims. She mocked BJP leaders' attempts to appeal to Bengali voters, highlighting their inadequate grasp of local sensitivities.
Banerjee condemned the BJP's silence over the deportation of illegal immigrants from the US and symbolically welcomed families of Pahalgam attack victims on stage, announcing financial support through TMC contributions, emphasizing the party's commitment to those affected by terrorism.
