In a strong defense of Punjab's controversial land pooling scheme, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann described the initiative as both pro-farmer and development-oriented. On Monday, Mann countered claims from opposition parties, asserting that the policy was not a 'looting' scheme but rather one designed to foster state growth and benefit farmers.

Amid opposition's criticism, Mann assured that the policy would not result in forced land acquisition. Instead, farmers participating in the scheme voluntarily will receive residential and commercial plots as compensation. He stressed the scheme's goal of generating steady income for farmers, while supporting Punjab's progress.

Mann also dismissed accusations against the policy, urging the public not to be swayed by misinformation. By providing grants to 70 villages for development, Mann highlighted the government's commitment to enhancing Punjab's growth trajectory and refuted suggestions of ulterior motives by the opposition.
