A court in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, has accepted a petition against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding a comment he allegedly made about Sikhs during a U.S. visit in September 2024.

The petition, initially dismissed by the additional chief judicial magistrate, has been revived in the MP-MLA court under Additional District and Sessions Judge Yajuvendra Vikram Singh.

The petition accuses Gandhi of making an 'inflammatory' statement that hurt Sikh sentiments, with claims of support from Khalistani terrorist Gurwant Singh Pannu.
