Renewed Nuclear Negotiations: Iran and E3 Nations Set to Re-engage in Talks

In a significant diplomatic move, Iran announced it would convene with European nations this week to discuss its nuclear program, with Turkey hosting the discussions. The pivotal meeting, slated for Friday in Istanbul, marks a renewed effort for dialogue following Israel's 12-day war against Iran and the U.S.'s striking of nuclear facilities.
The discussions will involve Iranian officials and the E3 nations—Britain, France, and Germany—alongside EU's foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas. The primary topics include lifting sanctions and issues surrounding Iran's peaceful nuclear program, as stated by Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Esmail Baghaei.
Despite the 2015 nuclear deal's erosion, partly due to the U.S. withdrawal in 2018, Iran remains committed to diplomatic solutions. Tensions rise as European countries contemplate triggering the deal's 'snapback' mechanism if compliance falters, while Iran challenges the legal standing of such actions amid accusations of European backing of recent U.S. and Israeli military aggression.
