Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba is contemplating resignation as he evaluates the advancement of tariff discussions with the United States, as reported by the Yomiuri newspaper. Ishiba faces increasing opposition from within the Liberal Democratic Party after a significant loss in Sunday's upper house election.

Yomiuri reports that Ishiba informed associates on Tuesday he would detail his accountability for the election outcomes after reaching a resolution in trade matters. On social media, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a substantial deal with Japan, entailing $550 billion in American investments.
