Amid mounting political tensions, Union Minister Chirag Paswan has come to the defense of Bihar's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Speaking to ANI, Paswan insisted that the government is prepared to address all concerns and provide necessary clarifications, urging the Opposition to allow Parliament to function and engage in constructive debate.

Paswan accused the Opposition of deliberately disseminating misinformation to bolster their political narrative. He reproached them for raising the issue of voter roll duplications following Maharashtra and Lok Sabha elections, suggesting their complaints could be resolved through the SIR process they now oppose.

The SIR initiative has ignited a political storm, with opposition parties questioning its transparency and timing. Union Minister Giriraj Singh echoed Paswan's sentiment, chastising the Opposition for politicizing a constitutionally mandated procedure. Singh highlighted that such revisions predate the current government.

Parliament sessions have been disrupted amid protests over the SIR exercise. Opposition MPs, including Congress and AAP members, have filed motions for adjournment to discuss SIR impacts on democratic rights and constitutional integrity. Consequently, both Houses were adjourned amid the ongoing debate.
