The Janajati Morcha, the tribal wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura, is gearing up to kickstart its election campaign next month. This comes ahead of the elections to the autonomous district council scheduled for next year, according to party officials.

A significant rally is being planned for August 9 to coincide with the International Day of the World's Indigenous People. Rebati Tripura, a senior tribal leader of the BJP, announced that the event will serve both to celebrate indigenous culture and to launch the party's campaign for the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) polls.

Dress in traditional attire, representatives from all 19 tribes in the northeastern state are expected to participate and showcase their musical heritage. The gathering will aim to demonstrate the BJP government's various welfare initiatives for tribal communities over the past seven years.
