In a pointed critique, Chirag Paswan, leader of the Lok Janshakti Party, accused the opposition of 'double standards' regarding voter list revisions in Bihar. He questioned their current objections to the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision, a process they had once demanded to address voter discrepancies.
Paswan emphasized the necessity of the ongoing revision, highlighting its role in eradicating bogus voting and ensuring that all eligible voters are included. He noted that such reviews have been conducted previously, but technological advances have made it more convenient by allowing online submissions and appeals if needed.
JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha defended the revisions, attributing opposition protests to fear of electoral outcomes. He underscored the need for cleaning up voter lists to prevent issues like deceased individuals or duplicate voters casting ballots, assuring that the process is conducted thoroughly to exclude only ineligible voters.
