Congress MP KC Venugopal expressed strong condemnation over the alleged harassment and arrest of Kerala nuns at Chhattisgarh's Durg railway station. He criticized the increasing attacks on minorities in BJP-ruled states, noting a disturbing trend in states like Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Manipur.

Venugopal, alongside fellow MPs, staged a protest at Parliament demanding action against such incidents. He accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of enabling organizations like the Bajrang Dal to target minority communities. The Congress has written to the Home Minister and Chhattisgarh's Chief Minister seeking intervention.

Moreover, Congress MP Hibi Eden submitted an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha urging a discussion on the harassment of nuns and highlighting the physical assault despite the women reportedly having parental permission. The Catholic Bishops Conference of India has also voiced strong objection over the allegations.
