West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her dissatisfaction on Tuesday over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's failure to acknowledge her state's contributions at recent project inaugurations. Without naming the Prime Minister directly, Banerjee highlighted the collaborative efforts on the city gas project in Durgapur launched on July 18, benefiting from state support.
She pointed out that West Bengal allocated Rs 54 crore for the newly inaugurated road over bridges, a detail omitted during their announcement. Besides the city gas project, Modi opened two road bridges under the Setu Bharatam Programme in Paschim Bardhaman, with Banerjee simultaneously launching various state projects, including a solar power unit and hybrid CCU unit in Birbhum.
Further emphasizing the state's progress, Banerjee announced a Rs 35,000 crore investment in the Deocha Pachami coal mine project and criticized the central government for withholding funds for state projects like 'Jal Swapno' and 'Banglar Bari.' She claimed the centre redirected funds to other states, leaving West Bengal to rely on its resources.
