Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera unleashed a scathing critique of the Indian government on Wednesday, following US President Donald Trump's repeated assertions that he spearheaded a ceasefire mediation between India and Pakistan. Notably, these claims came despite India's unwavering denial of any US involvement, further stoking diplomatic tensions.

Khera took to social media to lambast Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of failing to publicly refute Trump's claims. Describing Trump as a snake entwined around Modi, Khera wrote, "Trump is coiled around Modi like a snake. Rahul Gandhi offered him a chance to oppose the claims, but Modi stayed silent."

The issue erupted a day after Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, during a Parliament debate on Operation Sindoor, urged PM Modi to negate Trump's comments. Gandhi insisted that if Modi possessed Indira Gandhi's courage, he should denounce Trump's rhetoric. Concurrently, Trump hinted at potential US tariffs on Indian imports, intensifying trade negotiations between the two nations.
