The situation at the border between Thailand and Cambodia has returned to calm after a ceasefire was enacted, which ended minor clashes between the two countries' militaries. Thailand's acting Prime Minister, Phumtham Wechayachai, announced this development to the press on Tuesday.
Military officials from the neighboring countries are set to engage in discussions at 10 a.m. local time (0300 GMT) to ensure the continuation of peace. This meeting comes after the announcement of a ceasefire agreement that was brokered in Malaysia on Monday.
Efforts are underway by both nations to implement the terms of the ceasefire, aimed at preventing further military engagements and fostering neighborly cooperation.
