Donald Trump's recent decision to impose a 25% tariff on India has sparked political backlash, with Congress leader Jairam Ramesh accusing PM Modi of inaction. Announced alongside a penalty for India's energy and arms purchases from Russia, the move challenges current Indo-US relations amidst broader economic tensions.

Ramesh, highlighting past disagreements, remarked, "Mr. Modi thought that if he kept quiet on the insults by the US President, India would get special treatment. Clearly, that has NOT happened." He further called on Modi to draw inspiration from Indira Gandhi to challenge Trump's stance.

Expressing dissatisfaction, Congress MP Ujjwal Raman Singh emphasized India's resilience, stating, "The people of India will not bow down before America." Meanwhile, Trump's post on Truth Social condemned India's high tariffs and defense ties with Russia, marking a significant geopolitical and trade policy shift.
