Jairam Ramesh Slams Modi over US-Pakistan Relations

Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, drawing attention to growing concerns over US-India diplomatic relations. This came after reports that Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir was gearing up for a second visit to Pakistan within months of the Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22.

Ramesh alleged that Modi's claims of holding a 'special relationship' with US President Donald Trump were unfounded. Notably, the US has yet to appoint a regular Ambassador to India, despite confirming such positions in other critical nations like China, undermining Modi's assertions.

Ramesh emphasized Munir's controversial speech that allegedly prompted the Pahalgam terror attacks, which resulted in 26 civilian casualties. He highlighted Munir's upcoming US visit to attend a farewell ceremony for the US Central Command Chief, Gen. Michael Kurilla, who praised Pakistan as 'a phenomenal partner in counter-terrorism operations.'
