The Mizoram Governor, Vijay Kumar Singh, has called for the commencement of the fifth session of the state legislative assembly on August 27, as disclosed by an official on Thursday.
Assembly Secretariat Additional Secretary Lalthangmawia confirmed that the Business Advisory Committee (BAC), led by Speaker Lalbiakzama, will outline the comprehensive program for the upcoming monsoon session.
A forthcoming BAC meeting will include representatives from all legislative parties and relevant officials, where they will determine the duration of the session based on the volume of official business. The scheduled session will be the fifth for the 9th state assembly following the Zoram People's Movement's electoral success in December 2023.
