The Indian Rajya Sabha faced repeated adjournments on Thursday as Opposition parties created a ruckus over the absence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in addressing the ongoing debate on Operation Sindoor and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) issue.
The disruptions began at the meeting's onset, leading to adjournments at 11 am, 12 pm, and later at 2 pm, when the House reconvened. Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge was permitted to speak, criticizing a past statement by Leader of the House JP Nadda regarding similar situations under previous administrations.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju countered, emphasizing the Prime Minister's extensive response in the Lok Sabha and defending the Home Minister's competence to address issues in the Upper House. Despite the uproar from Opposition MPs, the session was adjourned till 4:30 pm.
