An eight-member delegation from the Tipra Motha Party, spearheaded by Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, convened with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi to deliberate on the Tiprasa Accord.
Having inked a Memorandum of Settlement with the Central and state governments in March 2024, the TMP seeks to enhance the welfare of indigenous communities in the northeast. Debbarma expressed satisfaction after the meeting, articulating on social media the Home Minister's personal assurance of commitment to the accord.
Further addressing local tensions, Debbarma urged his followers to prioritize unity and love over division. This plea coincides with recent conflicts involving TMP and BJP workers in the Khowai and Sepahiajala districts.
