Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has embarked on a pivotal two-day visit to Pakistan, seeking to fortify bilateral relations and amplify trade to USD 10 billion annually. On arrival at Noor Khan Air Base, he was accorded a warm reception by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other high-ranking officials.
Accompanied by senior ministers and officials, President Pezeshkian emphasized the historical ties between the two nations, highlighting Iran's strategic role in connecting the Silk Road from China to Europe via Pakistan. Discussions with Pakistani leaders covered regional stability, trade, and economic collaboration.
This visit, Pezeshkian's first as Iran's head of state, underscores Tehran's commitment to enhancing Pakistan-Iran relations. Scheduled meetings include talks with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Sharif. The visit is poised to solidify the relationship between the neighboring countries.
