Kafeel ur Rehman, a notable former two-time MLA from the Karnah segment in Kupwara district, announced his allegiance to the opposition Jammu and Kashmir People's Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday. His decision made waves at a significant event attended by PDP president Mehbooba Mufti and other key leaders.
Addressing the media, Mehbooba Mufti expressed concerns over the state of governance in Jammu and Kashmir, pointing out that the elected government appeared preoccupied with administrative appointments rather than addressing essential public issues. She lamented the neglect of the region's mineral resources and expressed concern over the detainment of innocent individuals.
