On Monday morning, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla honored former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren, a pivotal figure in the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), reflecting on his significant contributions to both tribal communities and the state. Birla expressed deep sorrow, emphasizing Soren's profound impact on public life and extending condolences to Hemant Soren and the family through a post on X.

Soren's passing was met with widespread tributes, including from Congress's Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who shared her condolences with Soren's family and confirmed reaching out to Kalpana Soren. Shiv Sena MP Dhairyasheel Mane labeled the news as a national loss, conveying heartfelt sympathies on behalf of Maharashtra and the Shiv Sena.

Shibu Soren's demise at 81 was confirmed by Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who announced the sad news on X. Soren had a prolonged illness and was on life support at Sri Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi. Known for steering the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha for 38 years, Soren also held significant political roles, including terms in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. BJP leader Nishikant Dubey remarked on the passing of an era, noting Soren's vital contributions to JMM's growth.
