Jai Ram Thakur, BJP leader, voiced strong opposition against the Sukhu government's decision to reintroduce the lottery system in Himachal Pradesh, citing its negative impacts including past suicides.

Thakur, addressing the Vidhan Sabha, recalled how the previous Virbhadra Singh administration had initiated, then subsequently banned, the system recognizing its detrimental effect on the public.

He criticized the current administration for imposing taxes instead and urged the Centre to deliver promised disaster relief funds for regions devastated by natural calamities.
