Philippines' President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr. affirmed his visit to India as a commitment to strengthening bilateral ties. Speaking at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, he emphasized Manila's interest in expanding cooperation with New Delhi.
President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Marcos upon his arrival at the extensive complex, where he was honored with a ceremonial guard of honor.
Coinciding with the 75th anniversary of India-Philippines diplomatic relations, the visit underscores the evolving Indo-Pacific dynamics and shared opportunities presented by recent global and technological transformations. Bilateral talks with Prime Minister Modi are scheduled for later in the day.
