In a significant political development, YS Sharmila, president of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee, has accused the TDP-led NDA government of imposing sharply increased power charges on the public.
Highlighting a financial burden of Rs 17,000 crores already in place, Sharmila lambasted Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for allegedly reneging on pre-election promises to avoid power charge hikes.
She further alleged the CM is planning an additional burden of Rs 12,000 crores, calling on the government to absorb these costs instead of transferring them to the people's pockets.
