Maharashtra's Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, credited the BJP's electoral triumph in the 2024 assembly elections to the spiritual influence of saints, which he asserted countered the divisive 'vote jihad' narrative.
Speaking at a function in Vaijapur, Fadnavis emphasized that social engineering was instrumental in their landslide win. The BJP secured 132 seats, with allies Shiv Sena and NCP contributing an additional 98 seats to the victory tally.
Fadnavis acknowledged the influence of spiritual leaders in rallying the populace against cultural attacks, ensuring a formidable win for the Mahayuti alliance. Meanwhile, the state government announced plans to develop infrastructure around the Godavari river.
