The controversy surrounding the alleged 'phansi ghar' on the Delhi Assembly premises deepened as Speaker Vijender Gupta asserted its non-existence, pointing to historical records that label the site as a 'tiffin room'.
Gupta announced that the Privileges Committee will investigate the matter, questioning former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel among others.
He accused them of distorting history and spreading falsehoods, vowing to remove the plaque bearing Kejriwal's name and display the 1912 map that provides evidence of the room's actual purpose.
