Amid rising tensions over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, Congress President and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, will convene INDIA bloc MPs for a dinner on Monday. This gathering precedes their scheduled march from Parliament to the Election Commission on August 11, as allegations of voter fraud cast shadows over the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

In a recent development, the Election Commission of India has once again urged Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to formally declare his stance or apologize for his 'false' voter fraud claims. The commission emphasized its demand in a statement, challenging Gandhi's previous allegations on voter list manipulations.

On August 8, INDIA bloc leaders, including Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, strategized over dinner at his residence. Discussions focused on the SIR's implications in Bihar, following a presentation by Gandhi on alleged 'vote chori'. The opposition has consistently called for open debates on Bihar's electoral roll revisions since Parliament's monsoon session commenced.

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi highlighted Rahul Gandhi's efforts to foster dialogue by inviting leaders from approximately 24 parties, including influential figures like Sharad Pawar and state Chief Ministers. The gathering aimed to cultivate an atmosphere of unity and inquiry, with participants scrutinizing government actions and voter fraud allegations.

At a subsequent press conference, Rahul Gandhi showcased evidence of fabricated voter lists, encouraging dialogue among the opposition regarding these concerns. Participants, including leaders from diverse political backgrounds, engaged in discussions grounded in evidence, epitomizing an enduring spirit of collaboration and scrutiny.
