Senior BJP leader Ashwini Kumar Choubey has strongly criticized the Congress' proposed 'Voter Adhikar Yatra', which he believes will end up as a 'shavyatra' or funeral procession for the party. The comments came as the political climate in poll-bound Bihar intensifies.
Choubey expressed unwavering confidence in the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) ability to secure a majority in the upcoming Bihar elections. He asserted that the NDA, under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is poised to clinch a two-thirds majority in the state assembly elections slated for October-November.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, along with members of the INDIA bloc, plans to initiate the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' on August 17. The movement aims to challenge the revisions of electoral rolls and galvanize the masses against alleged vote manipulation. Choubey shared his views during a visit to Jharkhand's Ramgarh district, where he attended a memorial for tribal leader Shibu Soren.
