In a swift disciplinary move, Solan police have suspended four officers, including a sub-inspector and three constables. This action follows the emergence of a video that allegedly shows the officers loading cartons of liquor into a police escort vehicle during the Chief Minister's official visit to Chandigarh.

The video, captured by a bystander, quickly went viral on social media, igniting public outrage and prompting questions about the misuse of public vehicles. Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh announced the suspensions, pending a detailed investigation into the incident. The officers involved include two from the 6th India Reserve Battalion and two from the Solan district police.

SP Singh emphasized the seriousness of the situation, asserting that accountability and further actions would follow upon completion of the inquiry. The controversy has raised alarm, particularly as it involves a vehicle from the Chief Minister's convoy amidst ongoing anti-drug initiatives in the state. Notably, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla refrained from commenting on the matter during a recent public event.
