A partial collapse of a staircase in a two-storey building in South Mumbai resulted in injuries to three people, including a senior citizen, on Sunday evening. The incident, reported at 7:43 PM from the building on Prabhu Gully near Marine Lines, prompted an immediate response from the authorities.
Those injured in the collapse, 70-year-old Damayanti Rathod, Parag Nazijka (40), and Paresh Sorate (30), were quickly rushed to the nearby GT Hospital. According to officials, their condition is stable.
Upon receiving the alert, teams from the fire brigade, police, 108 ambulance service, and ward staff coordinated a swift rescue operation to address the situation, especially due to recent heavy rains affecting Mumbai.
